Professional wood carver Glyn Mould who is based at Sacrewell Farm gave us a talk on woodcarving. He started off by talking about how he got interested in carving and went on to make it his career. He illustrated this by showing us some of his earlier work, including a piece he entered in to a competition linked to the Prince of Wales. He then went on to talk about how he set up his own company, the decline of woodcarving as a profession, the tools of the trade and what he does now. Put like that it doesn’t sound very interesting but it was, everyone enjoyed the talk and several members have asked if he we can get him to do another one.
